Saved a TikTok on iPhone but cannot find it? Check Files first
Save a TikTok in Safari, locate the download in Files and move a compatible video into Photos when you want it in your camera roll.
Start in your normal browser
Copy the link from the specific TikTok post. Open Safari and paste it into the video downloader. If you arrived inside another app’s small browser and saving does nothing, reopen the tool in Safari before trying again.
Wait for the file options, then choose the download you need. Keep the page open while it prepares the file. A preview playing on the page is not proof that a copy has been saved to the phone.
Follow the file from Safari to Files
Safari’s downloads list is the best place to start because it shows the status of the particular download. If it is still running or has failed, fix that first. If it completed, open the file from the list or look in the Downloads location in Files.
The folder may be on the device or in iCloud Drive, depending on your Safari settings. Search for the filename if you have changed the default location. When several copies have similar names, sort by date and play the newest completed file.
- Open Safari’s downloads list and check that the transfer completed.
- Open Files, choose Browse and find your Downloads folder.
- Preview the file to confirm it contains the right post.
- Rename it if you plan to keep it with other references or editing assets.
Move a video into Photos when needed
Open the downloaded MP4 in Files and use the share menu. If Save Video is available, select it and check Photos afterwards. The exact menu depends on the file and your iOS version. If the option is missing, first confirm that the file plays and is a complete video.
An MP3 download belongs in Files or an audio app; it will not become a video in Photos. For a carousel, the photo downloader gives you individual images rather than a camera-roll video with music.
If there is still no file
Check available storage and the browser’s error before submitting the link again. If the save result has expired, generate a fresh one from the original post. For a failure before any file options appear, use the download troubleshooting guide.
